Since 2011 KTB have been dedicatedly supporting the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of the Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. This charity is close to the hearts of KTB due to the amazing work that the hospital provides for all children including the son of the directors of the company. Young Benjamin Ballard, born with serious congenital heart disease and CFC syndrome, was retrieved to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at only one month old for intensive care treatment and now continues to rely on the specialist services of this hospital to remain well.
The directors of KTB as a heartfelt thank you for saving their son have made a personal pledge that through KTB they will continue to support the Evelina London Children’s Hospital by raising money for specialist services within the hospital. With a fundraising total of over £29,000, their charity events in Bexley Village, offering something for the whole family, have become renowned locally and have gained a loyal following.
The Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of the Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, was designed by children for children. The hospital is recognised as a leading centre of excellence in paediatric care. For its cardiac services the Evelina has an international reputation and in a report by Sir Ian Kennedy the Evelina was recognised as being amongst the very best in the country. In addition to cardiology and specialist cardiac surgery, the Evelina also provides general and specialist surgery, genetics, kidney services, neonatal and paediatric intensive care and paediatric neurology services. Like other London Children’s Hospitals it has a reliance on charitable support from the public to continue to provide only the best services for the children that rely on its care.
