The Early Years Framework at KTB Kids

At KTB Kids the experience for children is happy, active, exciting, fun and secure. Alongside this however importance of supporting development and learning needs is recognised and understood. Learning takes place by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which happens both indoors and outside.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a legal document set by the department of education that sets the standards that all Early Years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. Throughout the nursery KTB Kids follow the guidance and standards as set within this framework in all areas without exception.

The children at KTB Kids learn skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding through experiencing the planned activities within each of the interactive development zones. All learning is flexible to enable every individual to reach their potential taking account of their personal needs and interests. The way in which the KTB Kids nursery practitioners engage or play with each child is guided by their unique needs.

Throughout the children’s learning journey the trained nursery practitioners at KTB Kids report on each child’s progress through the EYFS working towards “Early Learning Goals (ELGs)”. Nursery practitioners at KTB Kids are trained to a high standard to understand how adult engagement can fulfill the attainment of developmental achievements or ‘milestones’. The uniquely designed environment at KTB Kids gives huge potential for early milestones and early learning goals to be achieved. Each ‘zone’ at the nursery lends itself directly to the development of early skills through subtle play opportunities.
